In today’s competitive and global economy, individuals, organizations and economies are turning to project management to consistently deliver business results. Implementing project management across the organization helps create a strategic value chain that gives organizations an edge on their competitors, particularly in high-risk sectors and markets.

The status of Projects in India, as per the data of Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, India (MOSPI), is alarming with more than 60% of the projects plagued by time and cost overruns. Hence, building the Project Management capabilities and competencies which do not happen over-night, needs to be nurtured. Talent suitable to meet requirements across the different sectors including infrastructure have to be groomed to ensure that competent projects professional are driving the projects.

Realizing the need to develop a capable and competent talent pool for project management, NITIE has started the most distinctive Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management (PGDPM) program with the vision to:

“Contribute to National Manufacturing Renaissance through Project Management excellence, driven by Education, Research and Practice”

The PGDPM program covers a wide spectrum of courses with focus on 'Functional Development', 'Skill Development' and 'Perspective Development' along with 'Program Core Courses' which provide complementary skill sets that blends well for successful execution of projects.

The Project Management area has focus on adopting management based approach to entire life cycle of projects with focus on Initiation, Planning & Execution, Contract Management and Project Finance & Risk Management. Post graduates from this program will contribute in development, implementation and management of large investment projects undertaken by public and private firms.  Project Management area strives to provide seamless career opportunities in a gamut of industries like Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Construction, Utilities, Finance & Insurance, Information Services and Business Services by offering a wide range of program core courses and elective courses.
