Prasad  was educated in Commerce  and Management at the Osmania University, Hyderabad, completing his Ph.D in 1996.  Since that time he has worked at the Department of Commerce  Osmania University.  During this period, he has been seconded as a von Humbold fellow to the Technical University in Berlin (1989-91) and the Foundation BHP Chair of Management in the BHP Institute for Steel Processing and Products (1996-2002).  He was visiting Faculty at XLRI Jamshedpur, Zensar Business School etc.

His professional interests have been varied, ranging from Organizational Culture – Educational pedagogies to action learning in education.   He has written journal articles in the area of workplace redesign, change, innovation and organizational politics, and presented research papers in several international seminars.  His contributions for  innovations in management teaching are Mandi, NITIE Dabbawallas, Hamara Dhandha, Shanthi Mandi etc.,

Over the last 15 years, he has managed numerous competitively funded basic research and Institute-industry collaborative projects.  In the latter capacity, he has worked in collaboration with a number of Indian companies and government departments to assist in organizational redesign and improvements and management development.  These organizations include Reliance, BEL , ITI Bangalore, Zensar, Satyam, Kribhco etc.

He is currently Faculty Adviser to Center for Student Enterprises at NITIE, and Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior.   His current research interests are in the areas of Inspirational Leadership, Entrepreneurship Education, Innovating educational pedagogies and organizational culture.

Prasad is also on the advisory Board of Navnirmithi – an NGO working on School  level mathematics Pedagogies focusing on underprivileged school children  of India.
