Dr. David Bennett

Guest Professor, Chalmers University of Technology Emeritus Professor, Aston University Chartered Engineer (UK)

Guest Professor at Chalmers University of Technology, Department of Technology Management and Economics, and Emeritus Professor at Aston University. Independent consultant in technology and operations management. Editor of "Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management" (JMTM) from 1990 to 2014. Formerly Professor of Technology Management at Aston Business School, Aston University before retiring from this full-time appointment in March 2011. Adjunct Professor with the University of South Australia Business School from 1994 to 2017. Main teaching activity has been in international operations and technology management / technology transfer. Areas of consulting and ongoing research interests are concerned with issues related to operations systems design for manufacturing, management of technology and the transfer of technology between industrialised and developing countries, especially in the Asian region.

Dr. Ram Babu serves as Chief Executive Officer at General Carbon Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Babu serves as the Managing Director of Indian unit at CantorCO2e Limited. Dr. Babu has over 35 years of professional experience with institutions including National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, PricewaterhouseCoopers and CantorCO2e. Dr. Babu consulting experience covers a whole range of sustainable development and corporate governance practices. Dr. Babu has helped Governments and Multilateral Agencies in areas including developing regional sustainable development plans, defining policy instruments based on life cycle assessments & substance flow analysis and investigating affectivity of market based instruments for addressing regional environmental problems. Dr. Babu worked in the private sector includes environment impact assessments, environment & energy audits, quality & environment management systems and corporate governance benchmarking. Since 1999, Dr. Babu focused on developing Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. Dr. Babu has participated in setting up many of the systems and processes of the Clean Development Mechanism, which includes development of methodologies, registration of over 50 projects and issuance of over 25 million CERs. Dr. Babu has led some of the early transactions in the compliance and voluntary markets and has been instrumental in developing a variety of carbon finance structures. Dr. Babu often chairs panel discussions and is a speaker at events organised by IETA, Point Carbon, and Environmental Finance etc. Dr. Babu holds Doctorate in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

Mr. Ashish Bhat

Executive Vice President at Siemens Ltd India

Mr. Ashish heads the Digital Factory Division of Siemens India comprising Factory Automation, Motion Control, Control Products and Industry Services. Prior to this, he was the head of Process Industries & Drives and Digital Factory divisions in Thailand. He also spent a few years as the Head of the Industry Automation division for the ASEAN Cluster. Ashish was also responsible for Automation and instrumentation Business Units based in Australia between 1998 and 2011.With an industry experience of over 30 years, his expertise spans strategic planning, controlling and portfolio management of Industry with specialised expertise in the Industrial Automation portfolio, market development and channel development. He is a Bachelor of Engineering - Electronics and Communications from Birla Institute of Technology and has undertaken Post Graduate studies in Economic Decision making, Marketing and Organisational Theory (Part of Deakin University Australia MBA study programme). Ashish also had other useful stints at Rolls Royce Industrial Power, Australia, and Cegelec India.

Prof. Chandan Chowdhury

Associate Dean and Practice Professor (Operations Management & Information Systems), Indian School of Business (ISB), India

Prof. Chandan Chowdhury is an Associate Dean and Practice Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems at the ISB. Prior to joining ISB, Dr Chowdhury served Dassault Systèmes, initially as the Managing Director (over 4.5 years) of Dassault Systèmes India and subsequently Vice President (Global Affairs & Business Development). He was instrumental in developing and expanding the company's footprint across several sectors in corporate, government and academics. Before joining Dassault Systemes, Dr Chowdhury was Country Manager, Software Group, Strategic Accounts in IBM. He had also headed a Swedish multinational (Industrial & Financial Systems). Dr Chowdhury also served as Professor, Dean (Academy), Chairman (Board of Research) and Member (Board of Governors) at NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering). Dr. Chowdhury has been the recipient of numerous awards, and his special areas of interest are innovation and ‘Technology Enabled Business Transformation”. He is passionate about leveraging technology to make the world a better place to live in.

Dr. Murari Venkataraman

Dr. Murari serves as Director, Technology for Relecura Technologies Pvt. Ltd. He has varied experience in creating, building and taking-to-market novel media, services and applications for various platforms. He has venture scale-up experience in figuring the what-how-when on multiple fronts (business, product, sales, marketing, hiring, statutory, legal, admin). He is one of the founding members of CricInfo (now ESPNcricinfo), the world's largest online destination for cricket (acquired by the Wisden Group and then by ESPN). He established and headed CricInfo's Indian subsidiary and served as its CEO and Director. His other experience includes business and IP consulting, engineering & manufacturing and R&D. He has a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Anupam Agnihotri is the Director, Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre, Nagpur. Dr. Agnihotri possesses Graduate Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur and Post Graduate & Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from the Visveswaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. Dr. Agnihotri was deeply involved in research activities on Aluminium technology related to energy audit, environmental monitoring, modernization programs, low cost material alternatives etc. He is presently involved in national level projects such as Development of Super Thermal Aluminium Conductor, Perform Achieve & Trade studies and is associated with the DRDO’s ambitious project on indigenization of Aluminium Alloys

Dr. B. Ravi

Institute Chair Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Bombay

Dr. B. Ravi is a product of three well known institutions: NIT Rourkela where he did his B.E. in 1986, IISc Bangalore for Masters and Ph.D., and IIT Bombay, where he is Institute Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Prof. Ravi works in two areas: metal casting and medical devices and heads the twin labs of E-Foundry and Biomedical Engineering & Technology incubation Centre. He has developed several novel technologies such as design for castability, rapid tooling, 3D printed medical models and Cloud-based simulation. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards, such as DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Gold Medal- twice, and his book: ‘Made in My India: The Past, Present and Future of Indian Manufacturing Industry’, received an award by then-Prime Minister Shri A.B. Vajpayee in 2003

Prof. Breno Nunes

Dr. Breno is currently senior lecturer in sustainable operations management, with expertise in green operations and technology management & Vice President of Education, Research and Publications for IAMOT – The International Association for Management of Technology. Besides teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at Aston he also taught Operations Strategy modules in the prestigious Warwick Business School Executive MBA at The Shard in London At firm level his work focuses on strategic decisions for operations function. He has acted as a consultant for the European Automotive Strategy Network (UK) & SMEs clusters development (Brazil). He investigates sustainability strategies, environmental decision- making processes, and green technology management in both developed and developing countries. He has recently won two Newton Funds sponsored by the British Council to deliver research workshop to early-career researchers in UK and Brazil.

Dr. Aravind Chinchure

Dr. Chinchure is currently Founder & CEO at QLEAP ACADEMY, Maharashtra, India and serving as a Chair Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Symbiosis International University, Pune, India. Aravind Chinchure holds a PhD in Physics, and has an experience spanning 25 years in R&D, innovation, intellectual property, startup incubation, social development, venture investment, policy, consulting and teaching. Previously, Dr. Chinchure was working as “Asst. Vice President – Innovations” at Reliance Innovation Leadership Centre (RILC), Pune. Prior to joining RILC, he has worked at Honeywell Technology Solutions, Bangalore, General Electric (GE) Global Research Centre, Bangalore, Kammerlingh Onnes Laboratory, Leiden University, Netherlands, and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. He was a visiting research student/scientist at the University of Oxford, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Southampton University, UK, Institute of Applied Physics (IAPD), Dresden, Max-Plank Institute, Stuttgart & Dresden, Germany, and Paul Scherer Institute (PSI) Zurich and other universities. He is recipient of international fellowships from European Union, Dutch Academy of Sciences, Max-Plank Institute, TIFR and Department of Science & Technology (India). He has authored 28 research articles published in international journals in the area of condensed matter physics and has filed 4 patents as lead and co-inventor in different geographies including US, Europe, Japan in the area of fuel cells.
