The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to train its executives in General Management orientation.
Mr MVN Rao, Head - Corporate Learning and Development ( CLO), Mr Nishad Mehta, Head-Leadership Development & Organization Development and Ms Dipti Sawant, Asst. General Manager - Human Resources at Larsen & Toubro visited the campus and interacted with the Director, Deans, and Professors.
Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director, NITIE Mumbai, and Mr MVN Rao, Head - Corporate Learning and Development (CLO), discussed regarding several possibilities of future collaborations for designing and conducting capability building across Operations & Supply chain management, Analytics, Sustainability and General management. We at NITIE were honoured to host the L&T team and we look forward to strengthening our collaboration with Larsen & Toubro through our different industry outreach activities.

Celebrations for Ganpati Festival began today with Ganpathi Sthapna Poojan. Director, NITIE, Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Registrar, Dr Basavraj Swamy performed the Sthapna Poojan amidst the presence of members of NITIE Community.
NITIE Officers and Staff Club along with Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Club organized the proceedings at the newly inaugurated Community Hall. Various events will be organized during the Ganpati festival on the campus.

Ganpati Festival came with a gift to NITIEzens with a big community hall. We are glad to share that Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE inaugurated the Community Club. Mentor The Mentor Programme And Way Forward

Those who give inspiration, give information, tell (truth), show (ways), teach, and bestow understanding - all these are like gurus. As we are changing in the global world, it is prudent to inspire, inform, tell the truth, show ways, teach and develop understandings for new generations. National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai, values India's rich cultural and knowledge heritage. Therefore, aligning with New Education Policy-2020, we have initiated project Parivartan where our students mentor students from nearby schools.
In our pursuit of excellence, NITIE Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Cell - "Parivartan" organised the mentoring programme for our students so that these mentors could mentor various school children. Under this social initiative, 30 NITIE student mentors have undertaken training to train the students of Passpoli NITIE Marathi School and Paspoli Garden School. We are grateful to Shri Arunkumar Navaneethakrishnan (@Arunkumar Navaneethakrishnan) for modelling mentoring practices for our students. Then, as the student mentors were ready to take the pride further, they visited and initiated the mentoring programme at these schools. The new batch of NITIE student mentors began their journey of mentoring class 6-9 students from Passpoli NITIE Municipal School and Passpoli BMC schools on various aspects of life skills, technology, human and social values, entrepreneurial mindset and various life and career opportunities.
So far, NITIE, Mumbai mentors have conducted over 2,500 online counselling sessions, competitions, career guidance, and development training sessions. Prof. Nikhil K Mehta is coordinating an ongoing programme under the aegis of the NITIE Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Cell (Prof. Upasna A Agarwal, DEI-Chair, Prof. Nikhil K. Mehta, Coordinator-Parivartan, Prof. Poonam Singh and Prof. Megha Gupta).

National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from 13th August to 15th August 2022 at NITIE Campus in a grand manner. As per the guidelines of MOE, NITIE commemorates the 75th anniversary of India's independence with the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign aiming to make nation-building more of a personal experience for the citizen while highlighting the significance of citizen commitment. All faculty members, officers, staff, and Students joined "Prabhat Pheri," a march on our campus displaying posters and placards of "Har Ghar Tiranga" and "Ek Bharath Shrestha Bharat" on 13th August 2022.
The Cultural Committee, NITIE, organized various cultural programmes ie. Marathon, Patriotic Songs, Street Play (Nukkad Natak), depicting the chronological historical events and a story highlighting the strength, valour, and unity organised by the students. Over hundred students, faculty members, officers, staff members, and campus residents participated in various cultural programmes enthusiastically. Prof. Manoj KumarTiwari, Director, NITIE inaugurated the events.
The 75th Independence Day celebration was started with Marathon at 07:00 AM at the Taylor Hall. Flag hosting ceremony done by Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE at 9.00 am on the lawn facing Vihar Lake. He presided over the function and inspired the audience by enlightening the importance of Independence Day. He shared his views regarding the freedom struggle and how we all should contribute to the nation-building. He mentioned how NITIE successfully handled various challenges during the pandemic to ensure seamless academic processes at the institute. He also highlighted the academic activities and achievements of the institute during the year 2021-22.
On this occasion, Prof. Vivek Khanapuri, Dean (SRIC); Prof. Rauf Iqbal, Dean (Student Affairs); Prof. Shankar Murthy, Dean (Academic); Prof. Shirish Sangle, Dean (Faculty Affairs); faculty members Prof. D.K. Srivastava; Prof. Padmanav Acharya; Prof. Nikhil Mehta, and Dr. Basavaraj Swamy, Registrar, NITIE, addressed the audience.
With a view to motivate and encourage the meritorious children of Faculty, Officers, staff for their performance in the 10th / 12th standard Board Examinations held in March/April 2022, a Certificate of appreciation and cash awards were distributed by the Director after the flag hosting ceremony. Also, a Certificate of appreciation was given by the Director to the Security Guards and Fire Officers who had done commendable services for the institute.
The programme was well supported by NITIE Faculty, Officers, Staff and their family members, PGP and Fellow Students. Mrs. Nisha Singh, DR (Admn) I/C, NITIE hosted the programme and gave the vote of thanks. Program ended with mass singing of National Anthem and distribution of sweets.
NITIE has taken a social initiative to promote the Government of India's National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. Various online counselling sessions have been organized since February 2021 under the Parivartan Forum of NITIE to help children coming from rural areas and to show them the right path through NITIE Diversity Equity and Inclusion Cell.
The students of NITIE worked as mentors to class 6-9 students from rural schools of India on various aspects of life skills, technology, human and social values, entrepreneurial mindset and career opportunities. So far, more than 2,500 online counselling sessions, various competitions, career guidance sessions and development training sessions have been organized under this program.
Under the National Education Policy 2020, NITIE is now going a step further with the NITIE Inclusion Initiative for Children's Education by providing benefits of this program to school students living near NITIE as well.
With this objective, Parivartan will also start an offline mentoring program. The students of NITIE will mentor 30 students from Passpoli NITIE Marathi School and Passpoli Garden School with the help of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation under the first phase of this program. The DEI team of NITIE (Prof. Upasna A Agarwal, DEI-Chair, Prof. Nikhil K. Mehta, Coordinator-Parivartan, Prof. Poonam Singh and Prof. Megha Gupta) is continuously working on the transformational activities.

National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai has successfully organized 8th International Day of Yoga-2022 on 21st June 2022 at Taylor Hall, NITIE, Mumbai in co-ordination with Yoga Day Committee & Fit India Committee.
The program started with the welcome address of Prof. Rauf Iqbal, Dean (Student Affairs), NITIE. Prof. Vipul Kumar Singh, Assoc. Professor and Chairperson of IDY 2022 deliberated about the Yoga Workshop.
The inaugural address was given by Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE, Mumbai. Dr. Basavaraj Swamy, Registrar, NITIE, Mumbai inspired all the participants with his opening remarks. Mrs. Usha Agarwal, guest speaker and Yoga Teacher of Kaivalyadhama has given the guest motivational address.
As per the instructions received from the Ministry, NITIE, Mumbai has organized Yoga Day in a grand manner. Director, Registrar, Faculty members, Officers, Staff, PGP and Fellow Students performed Yoga. On this occasion, participants learnt general guidelines for Yoga practices.
The session enthralled the participants with fundamentals of Yoga, connecting body and mind through the right breathing, and aspects of Ashtanga yoga. Participants performed yoga exercises as per the prescribed Common Yoga Protocol. Mrs. Usha Agarwal and Ms. Priti Ranavat, Yoga Trainer, Kaivalyadhama, Mumbai, conducted the session to demonstrate and facilitate common yoga protocol for participants from NITIE.
In addition to the yoga practice and main session, several other programmes were organized by the Institute. IDY-2022 Team has invited "Poster Competition" on "Yoga for Humanity" theme from Students and Employees of the Institute. NITIE Library organized the book display on yoga books.
NITIE, Mumbai actively participated in Yoga by the Bay event (mass yoga demonstration) organized at Marine Drive, Mumbai. The event was attended by over 100 participants including Faculty, Officer and Students. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Prof. Vidyadhar Gedam, In charge, Sports Committee, NITIE.
NITIE has signed a MoU with FFFAI to strengthen the logistics operations. The formalities were initiated as a landmark event in e-mode on May 28, 2022 during sixth Executive Committee meeting of FFFAI Head at Bengaluru. The MoU was signed by Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director NITIE and Mr. Shankar Shinde, Chairman FFFAI. The event took place on June 10, 2022.
The objective of the MoU is to create capacity building and knowledge creation to meet the specialized needs of logistics industry. As a part of the MoU, various activities like training programs, consulting, government projects, international projects, research projects will be conducted under Center of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at NITIE.
The event was attended by Deans and Faculty of NITIE.
National Institute of Industrial Engineering welcomed Mr. Poul V. Jensen, Managing Director, European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC) on 13 May, 2022. Prof. Manoj K. Tiwari, Director, NITIE along with Deans and faculty members interacted with him. NITIE Team discussed the collaborative project opportunities with EBTC especially in the domain of logistics, supply chain management and sustainability. EBTC expressed keen interest to work with Centre of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at NITIE in the area of sustainable urban transport, mobility models and resilient supply chains.
The European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC), an organisation established by EuroChambers, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry in India is a MoU partner of NITIE Mumbai.
NITIE Mumbai is excited to work closely with European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC) on various projects in the near future.
Two days “International Conference on Data Science & Artificial Intelligence” (ICDSAI)-23-24 April 2022, organized by NITIE Mumbai and IIT Patna in hybrid mode, was inaugurated physically in the beautiful campus of NITIE Mumbai on 23rd April 2022.
The Conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest – Mr. Prateek Mehta (Director Cloud Solutions Architect, Microsoft), Guests of Honor - Mr. Deepak Bhatia (IT Specialist, India Exim Bank) and Mr. Devesh Rajadhyax (Founder & CEO, Cere Labs Pvt. Ltd), Conference Patrons- Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari (Director, NITIE Mumbai) and Prof. T. N Singh (Director, IIT Patna) and Conference Convenor – Prof. Rajiv Mishra (IIT Patna)
The Conference witnessed inaugural addresses by distinguished dignitaries from academia and industry on essential topics associated with the significance of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in climate change and geoscience, supply chain & logistics operations, fintech, and other emerging sectors. They also discussed live working models of publication of research papers and learnings and experience on Artificial Intelligence as a student and a working professional.
The inaugural address was followed by two keynote speeches, first by Mr. Alok Yadav (Data Scientist and ML Engineer at TCS) and the second by Mr. S Bhagath (Sr. Manager, Engineers India Ltd)
The Conference was attended by around 150 delegates including faculty, research scholars and students from different institutions, both in offline and online mode.

To celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav NITIE EBSB Club has successfully organized a cultural program. Students, Staff Members, and residents of campus celebrated cultural exchange with traditional folk dances, classical music, traditional food.
Prof Hema Date, Dean-Student Affairs, along with the EBSB team, lighten the lamp. Prof. Padmnav Acharya shared glimpses of Odisha culture with students.
NITIE EBSB Club has proudly initiated online Marathi classes. The classes will be taken by fellow student Shri Nikhil Ghag.
Dances and performing arts from Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Odisha, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu were presented by students, staff members, and campus residents. A traditional snacks festival was also organized.
NITIE organizes NPL where students form teams representing different states of the country. To understand the cultural integration on the sports ground, the owners of Cricket teams were invited on the stage.
NITIE EBSB Club would like to thank Rotaract Club and Photography and Film Making Club for their generous support in organizing events and photography, respectively.

NITIE-NPL is the perfect amalgamation of both cricket as well as entrepreneurship. The only franchise-based cricket tournament across all the prestigious business schools of the country, the “NITIE Premier League”, test cricketing abilities and also bring out the entrepreneur to the fore.
As they say, “Well Begun is Half Done.” NITIE-Mumbai really look forward to hosting a very special 7-day event to make week full of cricketing extravaganza.

NITIE under Azadi ka Amritmahotsav aligned with Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat celebrated Shivaji Jayanti with pride and fervour on 19 February 2022. Shivaji Palki procession, aarti, and dances were organised to celebrate this great day.
Our revered Director Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari graced the ocassion along with faculty and staff members. Prof. Tiwari emphasised on the virtues and values of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and urged students to follow His footsteps.
Shivaji Mahraj's Shastras were displayed. Shri Nikhil Ghag, Fellow student presented Powada, Marathi ballad to glorify and celebrate the leadership of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The programme was hosted by Shri Vedant Patil, student of PGDSM-21. Pranav Shelke from PGDIM-28 look after photo and videography. Marathi food was served to celebrate Maratha culture. NITIE feels pride in sharing Maratha culture. Members from IIT, Bhubaneshwar EBSB club were invited to join us in our celebrations.

The objective of the event was to pay tribute to veterans of India who spent their life in protecting the nation along with martyrs who sacrificed their life for Indian soil.
With the aim to create a culture of fitness and promote a healthy lifestyle, NITIE Mumbai will be conducting an event on Surya Namaskar on 4th February 2022.
Under # Fit India movement of the Government of India, NITIE Mumbai has successfully conducted the Surya Namaskar event on 4th February 2022. The objective of the event was to create a culture of fitness and promote a healthy lifestyle. The yoga experts from # Kaivalyadham led the event with good representation from students, faculty members, and staff of NITIE Mumbai.
NITIE conducted an online workshop on "Excellence in Communication" on 21st December, 2021 under the banner of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Mumbai North. Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE inaugurated the workshop. Dr. Basavaraj Swamy, Registrar, welcomed all the participants and appealed to take the advantage of this workshop. About 65 Executives, Official Language Officers from various Government Offices & Organizations participated in it.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE highlighted the importance of Communication Skill. He said that communication plays very important role in one's life. “Excellence in Communication” is an endeavor that aims at working on organizational & personal communication challenges. Constant engineering of our training method has enriched the learning experiences of our participants.
On this Occasion, Shri Amitabh Kumar, President, TOLIC and DG, The Directorate General of Shipping emphasized the importance of "Communication Skill" and requested all the participants to practice it in their homes & offices. He said that this program shall help the participants in strengthening their communication effectively in personal and professional life.
Prof. Nikhil Mehta, Assoc. Professor, NITIE & Course leader of this workshop delivered lectures on Communication skills, Personality Development, Understanding Self, Understanding Others, etc. Effective communication is a necessity of any organization. It helps in the satisfaction of personal and professional needs. Unsatisfied needs not only impede an individual’s progress but also dissuade organizational productivity. With COVID-2019 and uncertainties, communication has become more challenging.
Mohd. Aftab Alam, Hindi Officer conducted the workshop successfully. The workshop ended with vote of thanks by Shri Vimlendra Pal Singh Bhadoria, Member-Secretary, TOLIC (North Mumbai).
It gives us immense pleasure to share that Dr. Arnab Banerjee, Senior Manager, Inventory management, Global Supply Chain, Micron Technology had a visit to NITIE. Dr. Banerjee is a NITIE Alumnus of 2002 batch & have more than 18 years diverse consulting experience in ERP, IOT and Blockchain technology implementations in Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director NITIE, had a very fruitful discussion with him exploring all the possibilities that will cater to development of specialized capability enhancement for both NITIE and Micron, emerging industrial live problem-solving, global collaborations in the areas of need.
We feel delighted to see his affection towards NITIE and efforts for industry-academia partnership with Micron. We thank Dr. Banerjee for his visit to NITIE.
It was a pleasure to host Padma Shri- Padma Bhushan Shri Anupam Kher Sir for a virtual motivational session.
Mr. Kher shared the details of his inspirational journey, the challenges that he faced from his childhood to Bollywood to Hollywood, and how he overcame them. He also inspired and motivated students to pursue authentic self honestly. He shared several anecdotes from his own life emphasizing the lessons and values he learned from his grandparents and parents, and how he explored them functionally in living his personal and professional life.
Mr. Kher has been a distinguished personality with multiple awards and accolades to his name. He has wide-ranging experience in a variety of roles and is known to speak his mind. He has also contributed immensely to social causes. The students were inspired and gained a lot of insights from his philosophy of success and motivation in work and life.
We are thankful to Anupam Kher Sir for taking out the time from his busy schedule and sharing such motivational insights with us. We at NITIE would love to see and hear from him again.

The Course was Inaugurated online by Director NITIE Prof Manoj Kumar Tiwari on 29 Dec 20. In all 36 students attended the course and got certified. This was done for the spouse / female dependents of our Brave Naval warriors of the Western Naval Command as a CSR by NITIE totally free of cost to empower the women and comprised participants from the complete Western Naval Command from Gujarat to Karnataka. Course was held online by NITIE Adjunct Faculty Col Santosh Dabral (Retd), Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt. This course has been possible only because of the active support of C-in-C Western Naval Command Admiral Ajit Kumar and President NWWA(WR) and Director NITIE Prof Manoj Kumar Tiwari.
Certificates to a few successful candidates were given by Rear Admiral Shivkumar and Prof Shirish Sangle at a function organized by NWWA (WR) Chief Coordinator Mrs Deepa Shivkumar at the Western Naval Command on 14 Jan 21.
