Women’s day celebrations at NITIE, Mumbai Women Development Cell of NITIE, Mumbai organized many events on the occasion of Women’s day under the Guidance of Prof. Seema Unnikrishnan, Prof. Anju Singh, Prof. Upasana Aggarwal & Prof. Priyanka Verma. Competitions like Essay writing, Drawing , Poster and Debate competition on women empowerment have been conducted for all the members of the NITIE Fraternity. All the topics were related to the UN theme for Women's day this year - “An Equal world is an enabled world”, promoting the thought of equal position for women in our Society. There is no greater wealth in this world than peace of mind. It is very important for all of us to cope with the ever increasing stress. Keeping this in mind a session on Art of living was organized by WDC. It was successfully conducted by Varsha D'Souza, a senior Art of Living faculty member and Soham D'Souza. This session included meditation, sukshma yoga, techniques for mind management and stress-reduction. This session has enlightened us with meditation and yoga techniques that are really necessary for all of us to maintain good mental health and stress-free life. Women safety is of key importance in today’s world. NITIE believes in making its women independent and self-sufficient to keep themselves safe and equipped to deal with from any unwanted situations. With this goal WDC organized a self-defence workshop for NITIE’s women conducted by the renowned Trainer Mr Rajenderan Nair, Earlier Head-Admin & Corporate Affairs at TATA Power. He has trained more than 3,00,000 women all over the country. In addition to above, the following are the upcoming events that are being conducted as a part of Women's Day Celebrations: - Sports events slow cycling, 100 m race, Table tennis and badminton to be held on 8th of March for NITIE women - Panel Discussion with invited corporate experts on women Empowerment on 11th March 2020.
